Speaking today at CPA Australia’s Not-for-Profit Conference in Melbourne, the ACNC Commissioner the Hon Dr Gary Johns, highlighted his vision and priorities for the national charity regulator over the next five years.

During his speech, titled Improving the charity market in Australia: let the data speak, Dr Johns set out the priorities for the ACNC going forward:

  • progressively making the information and data that the ACNC already collects more accessible to donors
  • improving the search functionality of the ACNC’s Charity Register
  • refining data to ensure donors can make valid comparisons of charity performance
  • seeding questions that donors could ask of Responsible People to ensure that they are considering their purpose and their activities.
