The ACNC has published the first resource developed as part of the Secrecy Reforms Project - a summary of a charity registration decision.
The summary removes any detail that could identify the organisation which applied for registration.
ACNC Commissioner Sue Woodward AM said the project received funding in the 2023-24 Federal Budget, and will see the ACNC put out more information relating to its regulatory and compliance activities.
“The new resources we are developing through this project will improve transparency and provide educational benefits to the charity sector. The aim is to provide greater insights into our work and processes,” Ms Woodward said.
The first de-identified summary examines an application for charity registration by an organisation that was structured as a proprietary company limited by shares, commonly known as a ‘Pty Ltd’.
It details the factors considered by the ACNC in making the decision to approve the organisation’s application.
More summaries and other resources will be published on the ACNC website as part of the Secrecy Reforms Project in coming months.
